Popularly known as Maisons Satie, this museum is like no other you would have ever been to. Being the house where the famous composer Erik Satie was born in 1866, it is now a musical tribute to this eccentric musician of the 20th century. A gifted pianist, he was also a painter and writer who collaborated with some of the greatest creative minds of the century including Picasso, Debussy and Braque among others. Touring this museum is as quirky an experience as it can get, aided with some cool technology. Headsets are provided that guide you throughout the place, with motion sensors that sense which exhibit you are at and explaining accordingly. The compositions of Satie that play faintly in the background, really gets you into the mood. The museum uses fun and interactive ways to help us learn about Erik Satie, his works and his time. The experience ranges from bizarre to absolutely magical and definitely unique. The self-powered merry-go-round in the end wraps up the journey in a fitting and fun way.

Eccentric and wonderful. If you are around Honfleur and you like Satie - You must visit.
A pretty good museum, but not great. Little children might find it a bit scary because of the surreal weirdness.
It was a weird experience. If you expect to visit his old house and see how he lived, don't go there.
It is hard not to be enchanted by this little museum which squeezed between rows of villas in Honfleur. The museum is dedicated to Erik Satie, a French composer and pianist. First of all there is music that regularly played by a piano, and then when you enter, you'll be welcomed by cozy rooms labyrinth which is filled with atmospheric and semi-abstract artworks. All along, you'll be accompanied by music and sounds.
Bizar museum on the strange man Erik Satie was. Very interesting and surprising. A must do when loving the man's music.
