Hong Kong Station, Hong Kong Reviews
Airport express line station. Easy to access by car or subway. Intown check in available here for many airlines but you need to access check in counters by Airport line ticket. Many shops around for dining and shopping.
The staff is not helpful. I missed a train because the wrong message given by a staff. I bought a ticket via agency and got a QR code. Before the gate entrance, a staff directed me to the service counter — just pointing without saying any word. There’s few people in the queue at service counter but finally, the counter staff told me I just use the code for the gate without waiting for the long queue counter. What a bad experience there.
Definitely one of the busiest and crowded MTR stations. If you travel from here to Central, try not to get run over amid the massive amount of people in transit, particularly during the morning commute times.
What Is Airport Express? Airport Express (AE) is a useful means of transportation from Hong Kong International Airport into the city. Trains depart every 10 minutes from 5.54am to 00.45am and make stops at Tsing Yi (12 minutes), Kowloon (20 minutes) and Hong Kong (24 minutes) Stations. How much does it cost? Fare prices for the two main stations are HK$90 adult, HK$45 per child to Kowloon and HK$100, HK$50 per child to Hong Kong. Discounted Group Passes are available. Families of 4 for example can avail of a group pass costing HK$220 to Kowloon Station and HK$250 to HK Station. Free Airport Express Shuttle Service There is a free shuttle bus service from the Kowloon (every 12 minutes) and Hong Kong Stations (every 20 minutes) to quite a few of the major hotels in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Check on the MTR website or contact your hotel directly to find out if they are included in the Free Shuttle Service scheme or if they provide independent connecting shuttle service (usually for a fee) to the hotel. Note: If there is no connecting shuttle service to/from the Airport Express stations to your hotel, you'll probably want to use a taxi for onward service. Are there cheaper ways into the city? If you are don't mind a bit longer journey time and want to save on transportation costs, there is an extensive airport bus coverage with routes to pretty much everywhere you might need to go in Hong Kong. Popular bus routes include A21 to Kowloon (HK$33 for adults, HK$16.5 for children) which takes approx. 45-50 minutes and route A11 to Hong Kong Island (HK$40 for adults, HK$20 for children) which takes approx. 50-65 minutes. Are there faster ways into the city? If cost is not a major factor and you prefer point-to-point transportation from the airport directly to your hotel than taxi service is the way to go. Because Airport Express is so quick into the city centre, taxi service might not be faster but you can avoid waiting for connecting onward shuttle (or taxi) service at the Airport Express stations and if you have a party of 3-4, the cost difference of taking a taxi is not much. Estimated fares for taxi service (up to 4 people) is generally HK$225-250+ (+5 for each piece of luggage) for Kowloon and HK$285-325+ (+5 for bag) for most Hong Kong Island destinations. See the Hong kong International Airport (HKG) website for estimated taxi fares into the city. If you require additional information regarding Hong Kong's Airport Express service, you can find it on the MTR website, the Hong Kong International Airport website Transportation pages or on the TripAdvisor Hong Kong Travel forum.
Very safe and convenient way to get to the airport from the city. The city check-in is also a very good way for passengers to travel comfortably on the train as the luggages are already checked in at the station. Very efficient system.
