About Ocean Park, Hong Kong

Ocean Park is the big daddy of marine themed park. Ranked among the 50 most visited destinations in the world by Forbes, it plays host to almost seven million visitors annually – which indicates that it’s got a lot more to show besides giant pandas. A mountain separates the park into two large areas: The Headland Summit and the Lowland Waterfront.

A marine mammal park, an oceanarium, and an animal theme park make lovely distractions between the four roller coaster rides. You can even catch some really cool nature shows now and then, one of which is a night only show featuring the world’s only 360-degree water screen. For a truly epic experience, catch the park in time for spine tingling Halloween Bash, the showy Christmas sensation, and the energetic Chinese New Year Fiesta.

Ocean Park, Hong Kong Reviews

  • It’s an amazing place. We recommend Cable car ride, ocean express train, the flash, ocean park tower, panda visit, marine aquarium. One issue was there’s no drinking water available anywhere unlike in India where we get this in all imp tourist spots.

  • You need a whole day to complete this park and some good walking shoes because you are going to walk a LOT. I would suggest you go to your most wanted rides first because the rides close at 6PM even if the park is open until later. Also, the snack stalls at Old Hong Kong close around that time, so you might want to grab your snacks before then. We had the best time at the aquarium and the rides in thrill mountain. I would also advise to bring extra clothes or a raincoat if you plan to ride the rapids (I forgot the name, sorry)

  • This place is amazing and has a lot of awesome rides and shows that you and your family will enjoy of. I highly recommend this place for family bonding because kids will definitely love it. I love the short roller coaster here because it’s the only ride that I can handle of and also like the train with submarine concept that used before entering the main area of Ocean Park.

  • The park is a must for animal lovers and thrill lovers. Put on your walking shoes because this park is HUGE. What took my breath away was the amazing view. The Ferris wheel and the cable car are a must try purely for view of the surf. It is to die for! The park is open for lesser hours than Disneyland. So keep this in mind when visiting.

  • Go at your own risk. Do not bring your old folks there. Staff at Cable Car station refused to stop the cable car when alighting. Another staff pushed me around when attempting to manage the queue. I will be informing the press about it to warn others to take safety into their own hands instead of relying on the staff.
