  • The worst Courtyard I have ever stayed in. The rooms are tiny, not even enough room to put your suitcase anywhere except the floor, and I even booked the extra large room. There is no working thermostat in the rooms so you will fluctuate from sweating, to freezing your ass off several times a night. The AC unit in the rooms is very small and barely blows any cold air out. It fails to get the room cool enough until the middle of the night. The shower reminds me of a solitary confinement cell, only much smaller. Its about 2.5 ft x 2.5 ft in size, has NO light at all and you will need to crouch way down to get your hair wet. I'm only 6ft tall so I can't even imaging being any taller. The room was in bad shape, holes and tears in the lamp shades and blinds, paint bubbles all over the place, cracks in the walls and seals all need to be redone. The best part is the rooms include a pair of ear plugs so you can actually get a small amount of sleep as long as your not sweating profusely and no ambulances, police activity, or active construction are in the area. The room is so poorly insulated that even with the ear plugs you will still hear a great deal of noise from outside. Lets also not forget the army of red ants that will invade your room after a few days, I must have killed 10-20 of them in one night. Rather then offering to switch my room, they just sent up a cleaning lady to spray some bug spray all over the room. It looked like this was a common issue as they knew exactly where to spray and made it seem routine. This hotel is way over-priced and really should be torn down and rebuilt. It is no where close to any other Courtyard I have stayed in, and I have stayed in quite a few over the years. The front desk staff was pretty useless in correcting any of my issues. I was told on 3 different occasions they would send up a maintenance worker but no body ever showed up. This hotel is also not in the best past of Waikiki, you will notice a lot of homeless and strange people walking around after dark and you will most likely be approached by someone at some point. I will never stay at this hotel again. It is poorly maintained and has been remodeled several times now. The location is terrible and safety is a concern after dark. Be ready to not sleep much and have very little space in your room. And bring yourself a nice fan because the AC barely works during the days and won't cool your room down until after 10PM.

  • I've stayed here a few times during overnight layovers. The rooms are clean and well kept with standard amenities. Also, the customer service is terrific. I once booked a room for my mom on the wrong date, and the staff was so accommodating and let me make last minute changes to my reservation over the phone, just in time for my mom's arrival two hours later. Given the chance, I'd definitely stay here again!

  • Close to everything in Waikiki. Polite and friendly staff. Clean and well kept. Rooms are not large but the desk staff told us at check-in (family of 4, two teenagers). Room change to slightly larger, albeit noisier, was no problem. The staff let us know tjis would be the case do no surprises. Two pools, both nice.

  • Good hotel to stay in if your looking to be close to downtown Honolulu. The beach is two block walk and then several miles of beach front to explore. Plenty of restaurants to choose from again within walking distance. The bar staff was very good and friendly and know a lot about the local scenic sites and places to eat. The hotel rooms were on the small side but since I was traveling as a single perfect for me. Valet parking like a lot of the hotels in this area and that staff was very good as well.

  • I booked through AAA, thinking that because it was featured by AAA that this hotel would be a great hotel. I've stayed at other Marriotts and this one didn't meet or exceed my expectations. When I arrived, we found out that it was $39/a day for valet parking in addition to what I paid online. I went to the front desk to check in and the girl at the front desk asked for a credit card. She said that nothing would be charged to my card, so I figured it wouldn't be a problem. I also asked if I could apply my Marriott rewards number, she said no because I didn't book through Marriott directly. Then, I get an email from my credit card coming saying that there was a $60 charge for incidentals. I went back to the front desk and the staff seemed less that sorry that it even happened, he acted as though that I should have known that. Unbelievable how careless they acted! When we got to the room, we were less than impressed. The room was so small for the price that I paid for, for 3 people it was ridiculous! Thank goodness I wasn't claustrophobic. The room didn't have enough towels either. The maids will try and start cleaning your rooms early so don't be surprised if you get a knock on your door before 9am. When I went to check out, I told the front desk person that I've had a terrible experience and again she acted like she didn't care. I asked to speak with the manager and she said she was in meeting, how convenient on a Sunday. I also asked for a receipt and the front desk couldn't give me one because I booked through a third party website. That's ridiculous. Overall the staff was ok, it just depended on who you would encounter that day as to whether or not they were friendly. I think they need to communicate better with one another and learn to empathize with customers. The location of the hotel is the best thing about this hotel, unfortunately I just don't have many more positive things to say about this Marriott. Go to a different Marriott if you want a more pleasant experience!
