Fort Derussy Beach Park - Review

Fort DeRussy Beach Park is loved for its not so crowded area and even though it is not as popular as the Waikiki beach, it does have many activities for visitors. The place has a number of shops located conveniently along the beach.

The blue waters invite one and all while the warm sand is the perfect place to get that tan you always wanted! The beach is dog friendly and is conveniently located close to the famous Hilton Hawaiian Village.

  • This was the perfect location for us to purchase a cabana that included 1 umbrella and 2 lounge chairs on the beach. There was also a bar nearby that served some of the best long island iced teas I've ever had. I will definitely go back to this spot again. P.S. Don't forget to validate your parking ticket. :-)

  • Came here on a Friday night to watch the fireworks coming from Hilton. Great spot, and while it is packed, there's plenty of room for even large groups. Seating is available in both the grass or the beach. Highly recommend to come here for Friday nights at 7:45 (Sep-May) or 8:00 (Jun-Aug) to catch the short but sweet fireworks show.

  • Great time here during our vacation. Museum is interesting and is a nice place to take your child. Everyone was very nice. Beaches were great and clean as well, not overly crowded.

  • Stumbled across this free museum during a rainstorm. It has great information about Oahu's role in WWII and is inside a former gun battery part of which had been restored to show how it operated. Very cool.

  • Super family friendly! Grad is watered in the park. Grass is well taken care of which is great for the kids. Military Museum there. Lots of rolling hills and great landscaping. Tables along the side of the beach walk. L&L refreshment stand. Great meals on the beach. Picnic tables, great beach. Restrooms and showers on the beach. Parking across the street and bus stop on property. Nice place for a walk along the beach or check out the flowers and native plants. Great spot in Waikiki.
