Moanalua Middle Ridge Reviews & Ratings
I loved this trail! We didn’t make it to the Stairway to Heaven stairs because of all the mud, but it was beautiful anyways! Even with the mud, this trail is fun to be on for however long you choose to be on it. Just realize, you will get dirty. Wear good shoes for this. I wore Teva sandals, which were good, but my feet were sliding around in them because of the mud. Give yourself a long time if you are planning on hiking the whole thing. We started at around 11:30am, and another reason why we didn’t make it to the top was because we wouldn’t have made it down before dark if we had kept going. Might be hard for kids, but again, you can go as far as you want!
One of the most treacherous & challenging, yet most majestic hike in Hawaii. The trail is misty at certain times. You'll be navigating narrow ridgelines, and in certain spots, you'll be using ropes to climb up the steep & muddy wet ledges. But the view was definitely worth the trek! This the legal trailhead access side to reach the top of the Stairway to Heaven. Warning: not for the faint of heart!
This is the legal way to hike the stairs to heaven. It is one of the most beautiful trails in Honolulu. The is about 7.4 miles long in and out, it is very challenging.
Great place to be. Very natural. One could almost feel the presence of history here.
One of the most beautiful and relaxing hikes. We love taking our puppies here. Cool, easy and beautiful.
