The Kapahulu Groin is a walk-way that extends into the Pacific Ocean and separates the Kuhio, Queen’s Surf and Waikiki Beach. The wall was built as part of the Waikiki Beach improvement project on the spot where the Kuekaunahi Stream joined the ocean, crossing the Kapahulu Boulevard which was earlier a swamp area.
