Garvan Woodland Gardens - Review
Anyone visiting Hot Springs is likely to know about this place, either by word of mouth praises from the native folks or by reading about it on the internet. Yes, it is as famous as that. Being one of the top botanical gardens in USA, this beautiful paradise of flora and beauty is renowned among people for its picturesque landscape spanning the shorelines of Lake Hamilton and beautiful Japanese themed layout. Garvan Woodland Gardens is housed in Arkansas University and features more than 128 species of flowers and shrubs along with a magnificent waterfall , unique bridges, and sandstone pavilions, all these canopied with rocky inclines reminding us of the surrounding ouachita mountains and its ethereal charm. Packed with hundreds of visitors everyday, the place is also deemed as an educational niche for explorers and travelers who are interested in learning the different aspects of plant life. Not to mention, the Annual Holiday Lights display that it observes every year, lands it among the must visit attractions in Hot Springs.

Garvan Woodland Gardens, Hot Springs Reviews
Hands down, one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Arkansas. If you're anywhere near Hot Springs, it's definitely worth the visit. We spent 6 or 7 hours on the 210 acres and probably could have stayed longer. The little restaurant serves a decent lunch and the grounds are so well maintained. From the waterfalls to the fairy gardens, to the flower fields, my daughter and her friends enjoyed walking every bit of this garden. We visited in March, when it was still a bit cool and things were just starting to grow. We also visited the chapel, which was gorgeous. This is one of my favorite places in Arkansas - definitely will be visiting again!
It's a peaceful place to walk around and enjoy the nature. Coupled with hot springs national park, the botanical garden is also a place worth visiting. There are varieties of trees. There are couple of small waterfalls. They have a set of peacocks in the garden. There is a children's area with tree house. Overall, a good place to visit with family.
My children, ages 5,8,9, were surprised at how much they enjoyed the gardens. The tree house, the train, and feeding the koi were top hits. We were all amazed at the Anthony Chapel. The staff was very friendly. We only had a cold drink and frozen treat at the cafe but the sandwiches looked delicious. It was a lovely visit.
What a great experience! Despite being 'trapped' under a bridge for 45min, to avoid the lightning that moved in on us, my family and I had a GREAT time. There plants and flowers were beautifully arranged and the children's area was awesome. This was the highlight of the trip, INCLUDING seeking cover under a bridge. My 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son loved it. They didn't even miss technology during our visit. Will visit again.
This place is beautiful! I could wander here all day. I would love to see the gardens in all seasons. The trains and the fairy garden were definitely highlights. Don't forget to check out the chapel.
