Houlton Woodstock Border Crossing Reviews & Ratings

  • St.Croix & Vanceboro border crossing open 24/7 We drove past the Canadian immigration around 20:00 o'clock without being stopped or checked(arranged by traffic lights). Handed over our Dutch passports at a window on the USA side. They checked every single page in our passports, asked us to park the vehicle and to wait in the waitingroom. Then they asked questions about jobs, what address we're staying, for how long and our official working holiday papers for Canada before checking the car. They were stern but fair. We had to pay 6,- USD pp(cash or card, no CAD accepted) and scan our fingerprints. Make sure you have all your paperwork(and address) in order, either on your phone or in paper. Took a bit less than an hour. For two(if interested: coloured) Dutch citizens with a minivan registered in Quebec this border crossing was no problem(we decided to take this border instead of the most Eastern one due to 10 of the 13 Google reviews stating racism and difficulties).

  • Been crossing here 20 + years. Never a delay, speedy, efficient on both sides even when traffic is heavy. Canada side is always very friendly. USA side can sometimes be touchy but are for the most part friendly. Never had problems here or @ Calais crossing. Just prefer this one time wise.

  • I had little difficulty crossing the border into Canada. I wouldn't call the border patrol very friendly In my experience. But they were professional and respectful.

  • Easy to get through

  • Refused to let US citizens in their own country for no apparent reason
