Hove Museum And Art Gallery - Review
The Hove Museum and Art Gallery has its origins in the year 1927. Located in the 19th century villa called Brooker Hall, this museum is a treasure chest of beautiful artifacts and toys. The museum envisages focusing on contemporary art and craft. Besides this, it also holds an enviable collection of dolls, dollhouses, mechanical toys, teddy bears etc. From historical catalogues to fantastical exhibitions and displays like the Wizard’s attic, the museum is well laid out and a whole lot of fun for the whole family. Visitors are welcomed by the Jaipur Gate at the entrance that was commissioned originally for the Colonial and Indian exhibition in 1886.
The museum transports you into a whole new fairytale world with hundreds of stories hidden amongst the whimsical collection.

Small but informative museum, with very interesting local artefacts. Fabulous toys, and a fascinating room of all things 'early cinema'. Shoreham was a real hub. Simple layout. Very family friendly. Easy access.
An eclectic little museum with a half dozen somewhat-connected exhibits. The high point is the cinema history exhibit which is a must for everyone academically interested in film history, and the exhibit on Hove's history provides great insight into the different architectural eras influencing buildings around town. There's also a "Wizard's room" with old-timey toys, as well as an interesting assortment of Star Wars memorabilia and a tea history exhibit on the ground floor.
wasnt expecting the starwars toys. trip down memory lane, got to show my children the toys I played with aged four+ figures both in and out of boxes, wonderful.
Love visiting this place to see the displayed art, great little wizards loft upstairs where children can view toys from throughout British history! Also a cute little place downstairs to have afternoon tea!
A charming folksy look at a a modern city. Lots for children to engage in. A little shambollic but good nonetheless.
