Cicada Market Cha-am, Hua Hin Reviews

  • A delightful experience at Hua Hin. To be honest I’m kind of fed up with conventional night markets in south east Asia, particularly we are traveling in a huge group with kids. So we went to Cicada Market instead. We were so pleased with the decision as it’s not only well organized but done in a very stylish way too. Probably the cleanest night market I have seen really. More unique designer stuff than common street stuff you would find here and selection of food is also crazy. However you need to buy coupons for food is a bit inconvenient though. Food wise is tasty but pricy for market standard though. However it’s totally worth a visit and a big attraction at Hua Hin for sure.

  • Expensive food that caters to tourists. Prices here are at least 30% more than Tamarind market which is beside it. There is also an informal market at the exit near the souvenirs area. Prices there are even cheaper since it is catered to the locals. Here's the price comparison for a grilled fish. Cicada: 240 -320 baht. Tamarind: 200 baht. Informal market: 180 baht.

  • The place to go if you are in Hua Hin. This night market operates every Friday- Saturday- Sunday and is one of the most beautiful places this city has to offer. Plenty of street shopping, food, alcohol and live music. There is also an amphitheatre where a professional musical is conducted once every evening. There are a couple of similar smaller markets that have cropped up next to this which are also interesting. One can easily spend an entire evening here.

  • Love this night market. The choice and quality of food is great. There are lots of craft stalls and various entertainers. The highlight for me is the lovely secluded garden area with the live band who are superb. Fabulous atmosphere and everywhere was very clean and everyone very friendly and welcoming.

  • Up-market, well designed, quaint space filled with vacationing Thais and Sun burnt tourists. Live music, some live theatrical performances (free entry), nice open air food court, good choice of quality Thai memorabilia in affordable prices. Next to Cicada you'll find more local Tamarind Market, also worth rummaging around.
