Carr House Reviews & Ratings

  • This isn't just a tourist attraction - it's a piece of history. Don't expect anything big and fancy. It's real basic - but gives you a feeling of the area way back when... Some nice displays and great people as docents. Hike around the area. You can take a very short 10 minute walk or walk for hours - your choice. A bit of a bumpy road to get there - but the bumpy part is only a mile or so. For more of an adventure - after leaving the Carr House - turn left on the road and go on up the mountain - to the top. The views are amazing. And, if you are a camper, there is camping at the top - and MORE trails.

  • Cute little historic area. If you’re in town and looking for a quiet and cool evening walk. Unfortunately, the trails are overgrown and the ruins have endured a lot of spray paint, but still enjoyed it.

  • Pretty. Mountain fresh air. Kinda rough gravel road. Went for one of their presentations. Interesting history of the ares

  • Awesome ruins of a burnt out mansion located in Carr Canyon. This location is easily accessible by parking in the first parking area in Carr Canyon. Head Northeast to the trail then follow it across the wash and up the trail. It's only about a 5-10 walk not really a hike at all. Highly recommended.

  • Pretty neat the deer are use to humans and stayed about 10 yards away, it was really neat.
