Taroko National Gorge has nearly as many easy trails as it does har dones. This is an easy one. It barely has any slope at all, it’s short (only 2 kilometers long), and it passes through a 30 minute tunnel. Historically the trail is a part of the old Cross-Hehuan Mountain Road built by the Japanese. See the memorial dedicated to four Japanese men who died in the gorge. Walk through forests, over cliffs, past historical remnants (look for a small Shinto shrine as you approach Heliu camptsite) and a whole lot of natural beauty. The trailhead close to the campground is also near a geological exhibit that explains how the Taroko Gorge area was formed. The campsite has toilets and a shower, but no food. At the beginning of the trail, close to the Heliu Campground, you will also find the Yue Fei Pavilion; the signboard will explain its significance!

Lushui Trail Reviews & Ratings
The heritage trail that previous generation use to transport by foot, nice view and good experience.
This trail is close for the moment. It said on the taroko website that it will be open on the 24 of May but drill close !
Very nice, but don't do same mistake than us of going down the bus at the bridge. Once you at in the start, it is a great walk of 40min. My recommendation is to pick a driver. We went by bus and you only have one per hour, so you need to wait each time you want to go to another trail. Anyway the views are amazing and you got shadows along the walk.
2km trail from 绿水步道entrance to合流exit. Goes downhill, some nice views, through a small tunnel, and not too difficult for younger children.
A varied trail with bridges, a cliffside section and a tunnel. Great views at the cliffside section.
