Overview of Indian Echo Caverns

Indian Echo Caverns of Hummelstown are slowly gaining popularity for their unique formation and structures. This limestone cave cut through a stone that is around 440 million years old. What started off as a trickle of water led to these paths becoming full-fledged caves. Today, this geological wonder has two caves, the ‘Northern Cave’ and the ‘Eastern Cave’, that converge into the ‘Indian Ballroom’. It is said that the Native Americans used to use these caves as shelter and for storage. Walk into these mesmerizing caverns, explore their structural tresses and learn more about their fun facts.

  • This is so close to Hershey it would be a shame to miss out on for anyone. We went not too long after the Hershey Half Marathon. Parking is very good. The staff and tour guide (Jake) were exceptional and knowledgeable, not to mention very friendly. The cavern is comfortable and a light jacket or sweatshirt is recommended. I found no problems with the footing or paths inside the caverns and there is plenty of elbow room when in a group. If you are looking for something different to do when in Hershey then definitely check Indian Echo Caverns out.

  • Absolutely fantastic tour! Great place for adults and children of all ages to do something different in Hershey PA. The tour was fascinating and you would never assume such a vast cavern would exist here at first glance. Great place to visit if the weather doesn't work for Hershey Park.

  • Great place to explore with younger kids. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Gift shop was large and varied and parking was readily available. Bring a sweatshirt or long sleeve jacket for everyone though, even if its 80 degrees outside. The caverns are quite cool once you get into them a ways.

  • We went on a rainy day as a quick plan B since it rained...it was well worth our time! It is a cute little area with plenty to do and a great place to have a picnic -when it's not raining ;-) There is a covered picnic area, playground, small petting zoo, and gem mill. Even the bathroom house was clean and updated...which is important when you have a toddler and tend to make several bathroom trips ;-) Our tour guide was awesome, very upbeat and cheerful and the stories and history told we enjoyed :-) He was not pushy and allowed us to take our time to get some beautiful pictures. Price is reasonable at $18 adult, $10 child 3 and up and the tour took us a good hour.

  • Loved visiting the caverns. Worth every penny. If you are military or veteran ask for the discount. Caverns can get a little tight and if your claustrophobic I recommend not doing the tour as some areas are rather tight. That being said I recommend visiting the caverns if you are in the Hershey Park area.
