Moon Lake State Forest Recreation Area Reviews & Ratings
Pick a picnic and sit by the lake and enjoy the peace and quiet. The state is starting to make improvements it's a nice place to spend time. Also camping areas have been greatly improved!
Beautiful lake. Clean. Plenty of wild areas. Widely separated pavilions that are in good condition. Lake better for non motorized boats due to the large areas of lily pads. If you go, KEEP IT CLEAN. Enjoy.
Great boondocking spot. Just wish there was a local spigot to collect potable water. This location has a lake we used for kayaking. This location also has disc golf but it's in the woods and the grass is very tall in some spots. You can also go to the WVRC spot here and watch the club members fly there remote controlled planes. There's also great opportunities for mountain biking and walking.
Not what it use to be. All the buildings arw gone nothing for the kids to do but run free. No water electric they do have 2 port a johns up in the camping area. Nice place even tho evething is gone.
People at the lake weren't very friendly. Nice walk but other than that there isn't really anything there. Port-a-potty stunk.
