About Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad
Built in the late 19th century by the Nawab Vikar-ul-Umra, the Taj Falaknuma Palace holds a number of royal memories of Hyderabad. The luxe palace once belonged to the Paigah family and also to the Nizam of Hyderabad. Today the stunning palace made completely from Italian Marble and gorgeous stained-glass windows, is a rare historic treat for architecture lovers and to those who are smitten by the royal life in India.
The palace has 60 rooms and 22 halls and a library room that has a one-of-a-kind carved roof made from walnut wood (replicating the one at Windsor Castle). The ballroom is a chapter straight out of a period movie with an unique, manually operated organ. The beautiful billiards table kept here is a twin of the one placed at Buckingham Palace while the frescoes and gilded decorations seen through out the palace, are as close to plush royal design as you can ever get!
The spotlight however, falls on the personal collection of the Nizam that includes rare paintings, beautiful statues, unique furniture pieces, historic manuscripts and books and a fine collection of artefacts made from Jade. Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad Reviews
Visiting the Taj Falaknuma Palace is a once in a lifetime experience. You will never forget. We especially recommend the tour through the palace. The overall experience is the best. You are taken to the palace by horse cart. They shower you with rose pedals, every where you go, they ask you, if you are okay, what you need. We can highly recommend the hotel - it is unique. The breakfast on the Terrasse is unforgettable. They have two restaurants- Italian and Indian - we tried both - very good. The pool is romantic. Overall very satisfied.
This is the crown jewel of Hyderabad! Opulent, awe inspiring and authentically antique. Arguably this is one of the most well-maintained /restored palace hotel of the world. Every corner of the place oozes luxury and history. I am sure Taj knows about this and does not leave any page unturned to make your visit special. A guided tour to the place by absolutely well-informed hotel staff is their way of showing off! Of course in a good way 😄. Food is just fabulous but the best thing is overall experience. Sunset is the time to be there to see Hyderabad disappearing in dark and replaced by those twinkling stars on earth. Though, the steep cost may prohibit many, guys this should be one of those bucket list items. High tea, sitting at the balcony of Taj Falaknuma! Followed by a personal gourmet dinner....
Wonderful place. Enjoyed a lot. The food was awesome although expensive. The place has its own roots deep in history. The place depicts an excellent work of art and craft. Each small corner has been created with care and patience. Overall it was a mesmerizing experience
Can't give more than 5 stars 🌟 the best hotel / palace in India. Most expensive and most luxurious. You will feel like a king. The only place in the world which can accommodate 100 people on a single dining table.
Beautiful! A must see for stunning top views of Hyderabad, architecture, decor, and simply a fabulous experience. Be sure to dine in the restaurants after the tour. Delicious! Especially the one on the terrace with a prix-fixe menu. Probably the best Indian meal you will ever have. Make sure to go with an appetite.
