Built in the late 19th century by the Nawab Vikar-ul-Umra, the Taj Falaknuma Palace holds a number of royal memories of Hyderabad. The luxe palace once belonged to the Paigah family and also to the Nizam of Hyderabad. Today the stunning palace made completely from Italian Marble and gorgeous stained-glass windows, is a rare historic treat for architecture lovers and to those who are smitten by the royal life in India.
The palace has 60 rooms and 22 halls and a library room that has a one-of-a-kind carved roof made from walnut wood (replicating the one at Windsor Castle). The ballroom is a chapter straight out of a period movie with an unique, manually operated organ. The beautiful billiards table kept here is a twin of the one placed at Buckingham Palace while the frescoes and gilded decorations seen through out the palace, are as close to plush royal design as you can ever get!
The spotlight however, falls on the personal collection of the Nizam that includes rare paintings, beautiful statues, unique furniture pieces, historic manuscripts and books and a fine collection of artefacts made from Jade. Excellent hotel and everything that goes with it. Staff are very helpful food is excellent so are the rooms very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the ride in the horse drawn carriage from the main gate to the palace. Excellent views and landscape gardens. Good spa staying here is an experience you will never forget. Good value for the money you pay.
Such a luxurious and aesthetically beautiful place. The music when we were there (Sufi singers) were also really good. The food was good and the horse carriage that takes you to the place makes you feel like a king.
This is one of the best experience I had in a long time. The property is so beautiful. The gardens, swimming pool, spa, dinning halls, staircase everything has such an old world charm. The welcome by the hotel in the horse carriage followed by showering of fresh rose petals makes you so special. The staff goes to great lengths to make sure that your stay is comfortable. The food is so heart warming. The room was so beautiful and comfortable. The gym was well maintained and has most of the necessary equipment. would love to visit here again.
Taj Falaknuma is beautiful. There is simply no other way to describe it. The service is absolutely outstanding. We took a tour and ate at their Indian restaurant 'adaa'. The food was fantastic. However, as expected it burns a deep hole in your pocket. Having said that, it's definitely an experience, one must invest in, on a very special occasion.
I visited the Taj Falaknuma palace for an official dinner. It included a guided tour. The palace is beautiful. The dinner included a 7 course meal & everything was amazing. It also included a Sufi performance. Overall, it was a great experience
