Falaknuma Palace - Review

Built in the late 19th century by the Nawab Vikar-ul-Umra, the Taj Falaknuma Palace holds a number of royal memories of Hyderabad. The luxe palace once belonged to the Paigah family and also to the Nizam of Hyderabad. Today the stunning palace made completely from Italian Marble and gorgeous stained-glass windows, is  a rare historic treat for architecture lovers and to those who are smitten by the royal life in India.

The palace has 60 rooms and 22 halls and a library room that has a one-of-a-kind carved roof made from walnut wood (replicating the one at Windsor Castle). The ballroom is a chapter straight out of a period movie with an unique, manually operated organ. The beautiful billiards table kept here is a twin of the one placed at  Buckingham Palace while the frescoes and gilded decorations seen through out the palace, are as close to plush royal design as you can ever get!

The spotlight however, falls on the personal collection of the Nizam that includes rare paintings, beautiful statues, unique furniture pieces, historic manuscripts and books and a fine collection of artefacts made from Jade. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Hyderabad itinerary 2 days.

  • If you ever wondered how the royalty must have lived in years gone by. This place will make you feel like a royal king/ Queen/ prince or princess. Taj hospitality with the regal set up. It’s breathtaking and the experience is over the top comfortable. Team Taj will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is impeccable.

  • Wonderful place. Enjoyed a lot. The food was awesome although expensive. The place has its own roots deep in history. The place depicts an excellent work of art and craft. Each small corner has been created with care and patience. Overall it was a mesmerizing experience

  • A truly amazing hotel with staff that are amazing. We celebrated a double birthday and the hotel could not have done more. We had birthday greetings written in flower petals, cakes and special menus for our celebration dinner. The heritage suites are huge and totally private, you have a whole wing of the building to yourself. The pool encircles an old banyan tree and is very relaxing. But it is the staff that make it perfect!

  • Must go place, we had a palace tour for this and I have never experienced any thing better. Be it Ambience, be it hospitality, be it management, everything was just awesome. Kawali in the lawn was also awesome. You can have a look at dining table having 101 seats. You would be amazed looking at the luxury life in the property.

  • An experience to be remembered for Life. It's short of being bestowed the title of a King. They reception, the service, the quality of decor and attention to detail of the staff for service is beyond mere words. Anyone you come across in the property takes great care for the needs of the guests. The pool and the gardens are magical and befitting the really grand and royal palace building. A must visit trip.
