Hussain Sagar Lake - Review
Set picturesquely on a plinth in the Hussain Sagar, a lake built by the Qutb Shahs, is one of the world’s largest free-standing Buddha statues. It's an especially magnificent sight when illuminated at night. Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the largest man-made lakes in Asia. It connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. A prominent monolith of Lord Buddha is mounted at the centre of the lake.
The Hussain Sagar was created on a stream of the River Musi by Sufi Saint Hussain Shah Wahi in the year 1562, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. It is a wide artificial lake that holds water perpetually. A massive Buddha statue weighing 350 tonnes stands 16 meter tall in the middle of the Hussain Sagar Lake. The statue is made entirely in white granite.
The Necklace Road is another attraction which outlines the periphery of the Hussain Sagar Lake, enhancing its beauty even more. Standing on the water front at night, one is mesmerised by the glimmering row of lights demarcating the lake that looks like a diamond studded necklace. Other attractions around the lake are the Lumbini Park and the Birla Mandir. The ancient temple of Katta Maisamma, symbolising ‘Goddess of the dam’, is very close to this road and pulls a lot of devotees every year. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Hyderabad itinerary 2 days.

One of the famous and popular tourist destinations in Hyderabad.Best place for spending family and friends Especially for kids Enjoy the boat ride to Buddha statue inside the lake and get some memorable snaps there. A UNESCO acknowledged heritage place in Hyderabad.Entry fee is rs.20/person. There is also children park inside the park. Good for Nature Lovers Photo Fanatics
Beautiful lake, good upkeep. Take a stroll, cycle, Eat at joints, good place to hangout with friends, family. Choose an upscale restaurant or bar by the lake, preferably The Park, Hyderabad which has an amazing view of the vast expanse of water, particularly after sunset and enjoy your drink and time. The vicinity is just great as is the drive. Jet ski and motor boats are available.
One of the most popular locations of Hyderabad to hangout. It has been improving for good and the efforts of government are evident. But littering seems to be a menace. Government should focus on dustbins and make it sure littering invites serious penalty, that's the only solution. Apart from that it's totally fine.
A large statue of Gautam Buddha erected in the middle of this lake, The Indian Tricolor flying high and the water fountains amidst the lake are a treat to watching during the mornings and the evenings. You can also enjoy the boating in this lake. There are a few good eateries if you want to have food. If you haven't watched a laser show then it is an option over here.
