Nizam Museum, Hyderabad Reviews
A part of the Purana Haveli, not worth the visit or the ticket price.. very low maintenance and very poor ambience. You can just complete watching the museum in just half an hour. It's better to go to the chowmahalla palace or salar Jung museum instead of going here.
Entry fees is 100 Rs as on 13th Aug, 2018. 150 Rs for photography tickets. First impression is very terrible guys as compared to Salarjung museum. The Nizams wardrobe is completely waste. I repeat it's completely waste. You cannot see anything there. It is just a hype. Some things are interested in there. Most items are made up of silver and gold. It won't even take 1 hour to completely see that. I say, please don't have much expectation with it. Place is completely ruin. Not at all maintained. Completely ruined. Just an honest review.
"Nizam's Museum" incorporates a fantastic display of exhibits of gifts gifted to the Seventh Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur at the time of Silver jubilee celebration of his completion of 25 years of rule, these gifts were gifted by prominent and eminent personalities of Hyderabad and also by various departments. Which was celebrated in "Jubilee Hall" at public garden ( Bagh e Aam ) which was especially constructed to host this event. Worth a visit !!
Let me give you a honest review, people who visit salar jung musuem will surely not like this place, this musuem is private property of nizam family and they maintain it unlike salar jung which is ASI property, entry fee is 100 rs and 150 for camera, they will tie a green band in your hand if you pay 150 rs for camera and you can click pics, let me tell you its a nizam palace where the ground floor is a school now and on the top floor only 3 rooms is the museum, its nothing but contains nizam's personal things many things gifted to nizam, many show pieces and many silver items, there are guides too well you don't really need a guide for this small museum and moreover they charge so heavy guide should come free, one room also contains a nizam'clothes, there is also an manual lift at centre, and yes most important people who were taking care of it were very rude they were behaving as if we have entered their own house and even after paying 150 for camera and green band on my hand every other guy shouted when i clicked pic and later allowed when i showed the band, there are many other buildings inside the compund so while coming out we got lost and we were shouted again by some random guy saying dont come here, well not their fault because it was indeed their home as its a private property not government so they were behaving nasty, so guy visit it only if you are doing phd in history of nizam or else leave it, all you see here are there in salar jung museum also and its more bigger better and more informative.. Avoid this if you can and yes one more info if you book any day tour package this place is included as all taxi guy will take you here, so if you want you can humbly refuse and spend quality time at some other deserving place
One the best Museum not just in Hyderabad but in India as well. I recommended to visit for those people who loves Indian history. And there are so many things that you will be amazed to see. it's best thing is that, it is near to the Charminar 😀😀
