Osmania University is located close to the Jamia Osmania and was founded by the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad Nawab Osman Ali Khan in the early 20th century. The university is the third oldest university in south India and the seventh oldest in the country. The sheer history of the university buildings, is why tourists come here to see the architecture and the design- something that goes hand in hand with the influences of the British rule and the Nawab reign in Hyderabad.
