About Paigah Tombs, Hyderabad

The Paigah Tombs date back to the 18th century and are one of the most iconic places to see Indo-Islam architecture with a touch of Rajasthani style added to its gorgeous design. The Paigah nobles were actually believed to be wealthier than most of the Indian Maharajas. The Paigah Nobility was established by Abdul Fateh Khan Tegh Jung with the intention to protect the state. They had their own palaces and personal armies and the Paigah tombs relives their legacy to be on of the most interesting nobles in Indian History.

The entrance of the tomb welcomes you with an inscription of old chants and tributes. Some of the tombs date back to the 18th century but irrespective of their construction, all of the tombs are loved for their intricate architecture with exquisite lattice work.

The tombs of Sultan-ul-Mulk, Teng Jung, Shams-ul-Umra, Sir Viqar-ul-Umara and Asman Jah are exceptionally beautiful.
