Spanish Mosque - Review
Built in classic Spanish design and architecture by the Paigah family, Begumpet Mosque was completed in the early 20th century. The mosque takes its influences from the Cathedral Mosque of Cordoba (Spain) and the Jama Masjid (Karnataka) and combines it with beautiful Moorish art work.
What is unique about this place is that it even resembles a Church- combining the highlights of some of the best design layouts of many cultures and countries. Notice the octagonal domes, truncated 8-sided pyramids, minarets that are placed at the corners of the structure and the Moorish arches in the prayer hall. Everything comes full circle in the Begumpet Mosque- be it design, influences, religion or art. The Mosque can accommodate 3000 worshippers at one time!
The beautiful quotes from Quran that are showcased in calligraphy in the Prayer Hall fulfils the essence of the Mosque and is a piece of art in itself!

Spanish Mosque, Hyderabad Reviews
Today is Independance day and I went to the lovely Mosque for the 'Open for all' event. I must say... the fact that the gist of a place lies in its people came to life. Faith exists in the bareness and warmth of Human connection. This is what I learnt today. That to enter sanctity, one can leave everything behind... all worries.. all thoughts and simply surrender to a force that is undeniable.
A beautiful historically Masjid located at heart of Secunderabad, Quiet and serene atmosphere. A must visit for people who loves art and architecture.

The Spanish mosque known as Masjid Iqbal ud Daula is an example of Moorish architecture in Hyderabad. Located near to old airport it is a wonderful architecture. It was commissioned by Paigah Viquar-ul-Umra Iqbal-ud-Doula after a trip to Spain. This mosque is a landmark and one of the unique mosques in the country. It was built in 1906.
Spanish mosque aka masjid iqbal ud daula construction started and completed (1907) by paighan family .its architecture is much similar to a spanish Cathedral–Mosque of Córdoba. Yesterday was an open invitation to visit the masjid (visitmymosque). Mosque has two rooms along with the hall. Initially may be they were for the purpose of nikah , offices, prayer for women, now they are using them for general prayer like other mosque. If u r going by metro it is near rasoolpur metro station. I went from Gachibowli urdu University and i took bus for mehndiphtnm from the stop which is infornt of mall ( realiancesmart) and from mehndiphtnm i took bus which was going to Secunderabad railway station.
