Previously named as Manguk Park, Jayu Freedom Park is located in Mt. Eungbongsan, near the port. This park also has another name, Seo Park, when the Japanese power became stronger. However, after the statue of General MacArthur was erected, the park got its present name. At present, the statue of General MacArthur is one of the tourist attractions in Jayu Park.
The entire park has been turned into an open museum with full of information and history of Korea. Beside its historical collection, the park is also famous for giving great view of the Incheon city. The pigeon cage provides the best view and actually tells you that incheon is a harbor city. You can even see the downtown area and the freight boats entering and leaving the Incheon port. Other attractions like the Incheon Cultural Center, Hongyemun, Joryusa and Yeonojeong are located within the park.
