This library has been dedicated to the Native writer and artist Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. This library is to be thanked for bringing out and conserving so beautifully the masterpieces contributed by Vonnegut in the field of Literature, Art and Culture. It was designated in the list of the National Historic Places of US in 2011.
The library finds place is the Emelie Building and serves as a cultural and educational resource facility, a museum, art gallery as well as a reading room. The museum and library also works towards promoting language and visual arts through the number of interactive programs they organize regularly. It is also known that the poet wanted to form something of this kind to promote the tourism industry of the city.
The highlights of the museum are the gallery and the reading room. Apart from the remains of the poet’s life, especially the Purple Heart Medal awarded to him for his service during the World War II there are also a number of other exhibits and other books.
