Resembling the famous Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, this temple dedicated to Goddess Annapurna is equally stunning. Being one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in the city, this temple always has devotees, as well as, tourists visiting here in hordes. The main entrance is adorned by sculptures of four life-sized elephants, welcoming you to this holy place. The carvings on the outer walls depicting stories of ancient warriors show off the architectural genius of this temple. Inside the temple there are three shrines dedicated to Shiva, Hanuman and Kalabhairava. The main deity, Annapurna is the goddess of food, thus she is shown holding a ladle and a container of porridge in her hands, and it is believed that no one ever goes hungry after worshipping her with complete faith.
