Annapurna Temple - Review

Resembling the famous Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, this temple dedicated to Goddess Annapurna is equally stunning. Being one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in the city, this temple always has devotees, as well as, tourists visiting here in hordes. The main entrance is adorned by sculptures of four life-sized elephants, welcoming you to this holy place. The carvings on the outer walls depicting stories of ancient warriors show off the architectural genius of this temple. Inside the temple there are three shrines dedicated to Shiva, Hanuman and Kalabhairava. The main deity, Annapurna is the goddess of food, thus she is shown holding a ladle and a container of porridge in her hands, and it is believed that no one ever goes hungry after worshipping her with complete faith.

  • A temple devoted to Goddess Annapoorna, is a well known and popular temple among the people of Indore and nearby places. The temple is located on a busy road, thus parking becomes a challenging task for the devotees. A great place where you can find an opportunity to pray for the blessings of God and feel the sensuousness of supernatural powers. The temple has a number of other temples, which makes the atmosphere more mystic and spiritual.

  • Temple dedicated to Goddess of grain (food) maa annapurna, designed in southern Indian style Temples. Very beautiful and great architecture entry gate Welcome's devotees by huge elephants carrying the gate. In side the temple court there is very huge marble statue of lord Shiva. Which was brought from Mhow 'Swarg Mandir' , during our childhood we use to play around that statue as it was in complete basic structure of Gautam buddha. Which was incomplete due to death of yogi named Mahesh who was building the famous 'Swarg Mandir' at Mhow, After no care till long years and due to lack of fund, the Swarg Mandir Trust Mhow, decided to transport this incomplete structure to Annapurna Mandir trust. Where it was beautiful carved as lord Shiva.
