The Inca trail to Ingapirca is a three-day long trail that begins in the scenic town of Azogues. A hike through the grasslands decorated with wild flowers takes you to the resting place of Incas, the Paredones ruins. The ancient stone trail further takes the visitors to the San Jose village from where the visitors go to the Inca empire. The Sun Temple, which is an ancient elliptical structure that was built for religious and ceremonial purposes, is the highlight of this place. One can still find ruins of storehouses, baths and temples which give the visitors a sneak-peek into the Incan and the Cunari cultures. Though not as famous as the trail to Machua-Pichu, this trail is definitely worth exploring for those interest in history and culture.

Ingapirca Inca Trail Ecuador Trekking Reviews & Ratings
Amazing 2-3 days trail. Can be muddy/swampy depending on the period, so wear appropriate shoes. Bring your own tent. Probably doable by horse too.
A well maintained historical site that gives you a hint if what it must have been like many centuries ago in this ancient town.
