Good ideas will usually persist no matter what they have to survive first. This park is Exhibit A of that theory. Started as “Mystery Park” as a homage and miniature recreation of some of the world’s most enduring mysteries. Erich von Däniken, a controversial swiss author, who’s firmly convinced that aliens had a major role in our history, decided to have this beautiful park built, and filled with pavilions that represent the Nazca lines, cargo cults, Stonehenge, Maya calendar, the Great Pyramid, the Vimana and Mars exploration.

Financial problems shut the park down in 2004, but it was reopened in 2009. It has a new section now, Mysty Land, that’s specifically focused on providing kids with a one-of-a-kind playground. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Interlaken itinerary 2 days.

This place is awesome. So much to do. My family and I were there for 4 hours and there still was so much more to do and take in. We will definitely be visiting again.

  • Wonderful play area for kids. I didn't see anything similar in the US. If you travel with kids, make sure to visit this park. They have stimulating rides, like riding on a submarine or space shuttle. Highly recommend

  • In the pictures looks the building interesting and spectacular, but nothing special inside. Spaces are too large and aren´t used. I was expecting interactive entertainment, instead of looking at the inconspicuous and unimaginable decoration, game machines for children and unattached details. There are cinemas in the building where Däniken movies are projected, which we all saw on TV. The whole attraction lacks a carrier idea.

  • Too much of fun for kids small river with small toy boat several rides very good destination for Kidd in Switzerland

  • We actually spent a good rainy afternoon here (2 adults, 3 boys 15, 13, 7), a bit wary after some of the negative reviews. It’s certainly not run down and was well looked after. The play area was ok for the younger ones, they all enjoyed the two rides and a couple of the shows too (the Stonehenge laser show in particular). Van Hänicken is asking the right questions. Most of the shows invite us to draw our own conclusions and invite curiosity. A couple (Maya and Vimana) are more pushy on his ET theory. It’s a shame more people don’t seem to go. I think the whole place would benefit from framing the inquiry more broadly with other theories to complement EvD’s which would mean it would attract less flack from EvD sceptics. In general a unique experience definitely worth having, with lots of potential. Just take an open inquiring mind and a dose of lightness.

  • A nice park for families with young children.
