The second and more remote of the ruins of Wilderswil, this 13th century castle was abandoned in the 16th century, after which it fell into ruins. The ruins are not easy to get to, but there are two paths. One starts from the old mill in Wilderswil, goes through a forest, over a fragile looking suspension bridge, a narrow path without handrails, and a final steep climb. The other path, which begins from the valley floor, is even steeper; you will be exhausted at the end of the 30 meter ascent. There is barely anything left of the original castle, but the views are totally worth the climb. Not suitable for small children. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Interlaken itinerary 2 days.
