  • Beautiful grounds with stunning mountains in the background. Very important place for those interested in Scottish/Jacobite history and for those who follow the "Outlander" series. The museum part is exceedingly well done, making the experience of the actual Battlefield all the more moving.

  • The visitors center is fantastic. Gives a good timeline of events leading up to the battle. Very modern with a good mix of reading and artifacts. Great if your history knowledge is a bit fuzzy. The battlefield itself may not look like much, but it takes a bit of imagination to see in your mind’s eye what a battle would look like upon the grassy, muddy moor. I felt a bit voyeuristic visiting without a personal connection, but for everyone it is different. A must for history lovers. Allow 2 hours to go through the entire exhibit and walk the moor. Did a quick sweep of the field and exhibit in an hour because of a time commitment.

  • So many feelings! Beautiful place, with very interesting history museum. Must see if you like Scottish history or visit just for the beauty. Wonderful walking paths.

  • Very eery place but AMAZING. Guided walk around the battlefield was very interesting. Highly recommended.

  • Great to have two sides to the story. Very educational in terms of history and it was powerful to be standing in the place we were hearing and reading about. There was also some fun things to do, my hubby got to be the model when we were shown how to wear the tartan. Lovely cafe too. Gift shop had mainly expensive items and could have catered for a wider range of visitors. But all in all a really good place to see
