Rahmi M. Koc Museum, Istanbul Reviews
The Koç Museum is a marvelous experience. From vintage cars to a real submarine, this place gives an interesting insight into the evolution of transport and lifestyle. The descriptions of items are clear and informative, available in Turkish and English. The museum itself is neatly organized and very clean, with a lovely cafeteria and reasonable prices. The submarine tour is a unique thing to do, lead by a marine officer who can answer all your questions. The only shortcoming for foreigners is that the tour is in Turkish, so it's better to go with someone who can translate. Overall, completely worth the time and a great way to spend a rainy day in Istanbul.
Awesome museum worth visiting. Rahmi Koç Museum deserves international praise with its high museum standards and rich collections. It has free car park so you will not waste time searching for a parking slot. The sections are so well designed with explanatory cards in Turkish and English. Once you visit the museum, you should also see the submarine that operated in World War II. There are restaurants and cafes where you can eat delicious food. Toilets are built nearly in every section. The only thing is you can smoke outside, which shoyld be forbidden as well.
What a museum .. full of treasures.. l loved every inch in that museum. I went there with my kids and i wasn't sure if they would liked it or not. I was surprised that they not just liked it but they loved it. Two years ago we went to London and there we visited many museums 3 of them are present in Rahmi koç. The transport museum . The toys museum and marine museum. I was wonderful
The museum of transportation was a visit just by chance but I loved every minute of it. An amazing display of antique cars, bikes, trains, horse carriages, prams, cycles etc. It had some well mounted planes and lots of sail boats. The railway train engines and carriages were beautifully displayed. Even had the Sultans carriage. This was a 1 hour visit which is a must do in Istanbul.
The most amazing place I have ever seen. The museum is so well kept and shown to the guests with so much pride that the language barrier momentarily diminishes. The submarine tour is a must. One needs a minimum of 4 hours to merely browse through the premises.
