The real name of this market is spice market and it is one of the oldest markets of the Istanbul. This market is just placed along with the Yami camii. This place is the second biggest bazaar of the Istanbul and is popular among the tourists since 1660. However, the shopping experience in this bazaar might be somewhat monotonous but the thing which you will like here is the architecture of the place which belongs to Ottomans of 1517.

Spice Bazar, Istanbul Reviews - Write a Review
A colorful and brilliant experience to simulate most of your senses. The smells, the tastes, the visuals. Vibrant! Full with tourists, one thing or another happening now and then. You can find multiple combinations and interesting experimental flavors of Turkish delights. Hookahs, exotic spices, food, jewelry. When you step out nearby Bazaar there are food stalls to try different things out. It was a colorful walk through the market. Just a watch out don't get intimated by the sellers who come on too strong trying to sell you stuff specially delights. Smile, and take your time, if the price seems reasonable go ahead.
Busy, chaotic and packed with shoppers local and tourists. It's just my kind of place. Tons of shops selling spices, groceries and kitchen ware. I can't tell you what half of this stuff is but I would buy the lot and try. It's a foodies heaven with smells that will awaken your senses. Be careful as such places are also frequented by pick pockets. It was heaving when we got there and we had to fight through the crowd of shoppers. Tons of places selling street food to stop for a bite as well. Loved it and despite the crowds would and spend a day here browsing and sampling. It's just my kind of place :-)
I love to shop here in the Spice bazaar compared to the Grand Bazaar. The market segment is smaller compared to Grand Bazaar. But it is so crowded especially on weekends. Please sharpen your bargain skill here. Nice market, nice people. All products and goods that being sell in Spice Bazaar is cheaper compared to Grand Bazaar. I really like it!
Nice market. Guarded by non-uniform police with guns and metal detector. A little bit scary but what they sell inside mostly turkeys delights and accessories. The building is surrounded by local market which provide more colorful and variety of local needs.
You should visit this market if you are in Istanbul, smaller when compared to Grand Bazaar. But it's a must visit. There are lot of shops which sell Spices, Dry fruits, fishes and Turkish sweets (Turkish delight)
