It is one of the best examples of the architecture of the Ottoman Empire. This place was built by the Sultan Suleiman and is very popular among the tourists and people of Istanbul.
This place is also holding the tombs of emperor Suleiman as well as his wife Hurrem. This mosque was the part of larger complex which included educational as well as social service building. Suleymaniye Mosque, Istanbul Reviews
The mosque is really beautiful. I loved the garden and the view from there. Google maps took me trough huge market, which was scary a bit cause I was alone, but at the same time I saw so many things. The mosque is on the hill so be aware of climbing and sweat. Free entrance, beautiful view and rich history! Many restaurants on the rooftops in near. Beautiful place to watch sunset!
A beautiful mosque with an amazing ottoman design. Open to both public and Muslims to read prayers. Ablution spots are outside and believe me, feels great to use when the sun is out. Volunteers and imams are very helpful and friendly if you ask questions about the place or Islam in general. And the gardens outside and great to sit by if you need a break. A great view too if you look over to the main city. A must visit if you are in the area
One of the biggest mosque in Istanbul. You must definitely check it out. It has a big court from which you have a breathtaking view of Istanbul (and Galata tower!). Inside it's big, luminous and peaceful. It's a masterpiece of architecture and along the most beautiful mosques in Istanbul.
Great historical place. Its a mosque so apparently you have to wear modest cloths when visiting. Consider having a piece of cloths to cover your hair (only women) and if you don’t have one they will provide you one to use and return later. You will take your shoes off before entering the inside part. You are expected to be quiet and respectful as its a religious place and some people are praying or worshiping and they don’t want to be disturbed. Entrance is totally free of charge dont let anyone fool you and ask for money. معلم تاريخي و ديني رائع جدا. سمي السلمانية لأن السلطان سليمان هو من امر بإنشاءه و دفن في الباحة الخلفية للجامع.
A very good, less crowded mosque to visit. The Blue Mosque is the main attraction but since it is to crowded this might be a better alternative for people that just want to take their time. The architecture is very beautiful reflecting the Turkish style.
