Great mosque to visit. Less crowded than the famous blue mosque and in my opinion much better. Beautiful decorations and fantastic views. Friendly staff with great knowledge. Not pushy just informative. Free literature as well, in a variety of languages. A must see. It is a little difficult to get to but worth the effort.
Most beautiful mosque in Istanbul!! Amazing architecture! Best thing is the sea view from its garden plus showing European side of Istanbul! 12:45 to 13:45 is the time for prayers, so tourists are not allowed in the main area, but you can still see other places around it, but try to avoid this one hour. Free entrance otherwise. Unfortunately almost all other mosque in the city are under renovation, but this one is open & operational!
The mosque is really beautiful. I loved the garden and the view from there. Google maps took me trough huge market, which was scary a bit cause I was alone, but at the same time I saw so many things. The mosque is on the hill so be aware of climbing and sweat. Free entrance, beautiful view and rich history! Many restaurants on the rooftops in near. Beautiful place to watch sunset!
A beautiful mosque with an amazing ottoman design. Open to both public and Muslims to read prayers. Ablution spots are outside and believe me, feels great to use when the sun is out. Volunteers and imams are very helpful and friendly if you ask questions about the place or Islam in general. And the gardens outside and great to sit by if you need a break. A great view too if you look over to the main city. A must visit if you are in the area
What can I say about this place: huge, grandiose, majestic and beautiful. Mosque of many centuries. Historical place. Resting place of the great Sultan and his family. One of the most famous place in Istanbul. Highly recommend for visiting.
