Jaffna Dutch Fort stands tall as a memory and mark of colonial days in Sri Lanka. Although parts of the fort are in ruins, you will not be disappointed at the magnificence of the fort. The fort presents a mighty picture to the visitor, with a serene backdrop of crystal clear water of the ocean and vast sprawling green flat lands around it. As you enter inside the fort, you will notice the statue of Virgin Mary in the church of the fort complex. Don’t miss the museum inside the Jaffna Dutch Fort that has a lot of historical facts and information displayed inside. It is recommended that you visit the fort in the evening and witness the spectacular sunset.
