One of the things that the town of Jaffna is most famous for is the ancient ruins of King Sangiliyan’s Minister’s Residence. Here you will see the remains of a huge building structures of Jaffna kingdom, the structure royal residence of the ruling dynasty of the Kingdom of Jaffna. Visiting this place would give you an insight into the techniques of house-making during King Sangiliyan’s reign. This royal palace was also mentioned in a historical book by Ibn Batuta. The place was destroyed during the Portuguese war.
