The Abhaneri Step Well is an exclusive tourism venue of Jaipur, situated in Abha Nagri. It features the exceptional invention of collecting and preserving rain water for drinking and fodder during the unfavourable conditions of drought. The most famous among the step wells, as well as the largest and deepest, is the Chand Baori. The walls and steps of the well are exotically adorned with engravings and sculptures.

The wells also acted as the reservoirs of drinking water along with separate enclosures for providing bathing facilities to the visitors of the Harsh Mata Temple, which is situated in the frontal premises of the Chand Baori. The temple is regarded as the abode of the Harsh Mata- The regional Goddess of Happiness and Joy. The main characteristic feature of the Abhaneri Baori Step Well is the distribution of the steps into three categories, and each flight of steps being divided and arranged into stories.

  • Beautiful structure, and feels more beautiful after hiring a tour guide. The vision and the technology used so early is mesmerizing. I kind of loved it even more after acknowledging that "the dark knight rises" prison scene was shot here. Beautiful must visit.

  • An excellent example for Medieval architecture in Rajasthan- this monument is really well kept and clean. Not too crowded too, with friendly locals. A must visit place for those who love art and history.

  • One of the unique ancient place in Dausa district and also in India. It's have a unique design without using any adhesive materials. It's have unique steps design in the India. It's almost 100 km away from Jaipur and 15 km away from NH 11. Nov to March is good time to visit this ancient place. Also in rainy season.

  • An amazing time I spent here. Baori is really amazing and the best Baori I have ever visited in my life. -There is no tickets to enter inside the Baori till now. - There are railings they have for safety and other reasons and you won't be allowed to go after railings. - Guide is available on the entrance if someone wants to take a guide but I won't recommend to have any guide. - There is small but beautiful guide in the Baori Gates but just before the entrance where you can have a good time and can enjoy home made food with your family and friends. - People are humble there and very supportive. - You will not see any baggers there. - Most important thing is you have to park your vahicle on your own risk because there is no parking facilities provided by local authorities or Rajasthan Tourism.

  • As a place it is worth visit but for me I live in Jaipur and going over there just to see this place isn't fruitful because it is the only place over there. There is nothing around it. If you're going somewhere at it belongs in between then only I would recommend to visit.
