Gaitore - Review

Gaitore is a famous historical venue of Jaipur. Raised as symbols for cremation grounds of the royal Rajput Emperors and the family members of the king’s clan, The Gaitoreis an example of the fusion of Mughal and Hindu architecture. Marble and red and yellow sandstone structures, bearing the inscriptions of the traditional carvings of Rajasthan adorn this place.

The famous marble memorials of Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II, Sawai Madho Singh and Sawai Jai Singh II, pay homage to the valour, courage and philosophy of these rulers. Beautiful patterns and engravings enhance the beauty of these structures. There are also several paintings on the walls which are an amazing insight into the traditions and customs of Rajasthan.

The cenotaph of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II is regarded as the one that is most intricately decorated and is hence the one that should not be missed. The cenotaph of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II is the most magnificent and royally designed owing to the exceptional patterns of inscriptions and engravings upon the marble platform. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Jaipur itinerary 1 day.

Gaitore, Jaipur Reviews

  • A Place for lovers and photographers. The archetecture is one of a kind. Pigeons have a high population resulting some brilliant photographs which suits the decor. Just make sure not to trash the place. Small place. Can take great pictures. Too many stairs and right now is not the right time to visit as its a bit too humid and with all them tourists gets a bit suffocating near its bottom. Overall its worth a visit.

  • You must go to this historical site .Omg this was beyond beautiful. The architecture the details on the monuments blew me away. Its a must see in Jaipur. It's free entrance .Very peaceful and calm place as not many people know f this . If in Jaipur you have to visit.

  • This a very quite little place with some beautiful variety of "chhatri" architecture, each dedicated to the various rulers of Jaipur. It's a shame that the place doesn't receive many tourists. Spend your early morning here and the nearby Ganesh temple on the hill, away from the hagglers at other touristy destinations in Jaipur. One can see Gaitor in its entirety from the temple as well as private part of the City Palace.

  • Awesome place for photoshoots Entry fee 1100 per hour No tripods are allowed If weather's clear.. you'll get picture perfect shots and if weather's a little bad.. you'll get the best scenario ♥️

  • Gator ki chhatriyan is a place less visited by tourists... A chhatri is build to commemorate each king / prince located in the secluded area of the city, the place has Chhatris with some real good and intricate carvings... It is a well maintained and very peaceful place and I would say is a must visit place on your next trip to Jaipur... Locals may discourage you by saying nothing extraordinary about the place... But I liked my quiet time over there admiring the fine carving on some of the Chhatris.... Sitting under shades of the huge and very old trees...
