The Facade of the Hawa Mahal Jaipur is indubitably one of the most gorgeous and impressive things you will see in the world. The five storeys and the front facade have amazing and extensive networked marble work done upon them. The 953 windows called jharokhas are an astonishing sight. They were designed in the way so as to aid privacy.
Hawa Mahal Jaipur Architecture: The design of the jharokhas allows one to be able to observe the exterior without being seen. The lattice structures also facilitated the inwards flow and retaining of the fresh and cool air within the building as a result of the lattice network. The exterior and the walls of the palace are built of mostly red and pink sandstones. This is a Mughal architecture designed by Sawai Pratap Singh, Lal Chand Ustad.
The Hawa Mahal is an amazing amalgamation of cultures. The Mughal and the Rajput architecture as well as customs have been married beautifully here. The interior of the palace is built of varieties of coloured stones, gems, and chiefly marble. The inner courtyards are adorned with decorated fountains. Hawa Mahal is one attraction that stands synonymous with Jaipur and is thus a must visit.

The Hawa Mahal Jaipur is the beautiful many windowed extension of the City Palace that is said to resemble the honeycomb structure of a bee’s nest. Since the construction of the Hawa Mahal Jaipur in 1799 the building has become the iconic structure of the city and the pink sandstone palace is considered as the finest example of Rajput architecture. The Hawa Mahal Jaipur translated into English means the Palace of the Winds and this name is in reference to the clever cooling system which propagates a gentle breezes through the inner rooms even during the intense Rajasthan summers. This ingenious design has been completely lost after a recent renovation in which windows were installed behind each of the lattice openings, so today the palace of winds has no wind.
Definitely a must-see in Jaipur. It's a beautiful place! I would recommend going as early as possible to avoid the crowds. We were lucky enough to catch the Jaipur Photo Festival while we were there. It's refreshing to exhibit contemporary photography in such a historical setting.
Calm and quiet. Lovely sights of the city from top area. Even during hot afternoon, it was cool inside. Beautiful interiors give you a glimpse of rich old architecture. Entry fee is also very nominal.
It's a must visit if you are going to Jaipur. The place reminds one of the reminiscent glory of the city. One can get an entire view of the city from Hawa Mahal. The colourful windows make the place look even more beautiful.
