Jaipur zoo is one of the attractions in the city that attracts a lot of kid tourists. Opened in 1877, this zoo is known for housing a wide range of animal species as well as birds. There are two sections in the zoo: one is reserved for mammals and the other one is reserved for birds and reptiles. The recent addition to this zoo was the ghariyal (one form of crocodile) breeding farm, which is the fourth largest breeding farm in India. In order to understand the wildlife, you can also visit the museum located inside the zoo. In addition, this park also known for its prehistoric Zoological Garden that thrives in vegetation in addition to an assortment of exotic birds and wild beasts. In particular, the zoo serves well as an enlightening trip for children. Often, the school children from different schools visit this place. They enjoy and get inspired by several rare animal species in the zoo. A visit to this attraction will leave you with better understanding of wildlife and nature.

As Jaipur is a hot city, you may not see many animals during the day time. Best time to visit zoo is from morning to before noon. Remember to carry water bottle and some packed food items due to lack to eateries in the premises.
It is located opposite to Albert hall museum. The entry ticket is 30₹ for Indian citizens and 300₹ for foreign tourists. The zoo is poorly maintained and their are hardly any animals kept. More than half of the listed animals are not present. Visited in March 2017. I would not recommend this place for visit.
Very Good place for Kids to enjoy !! The Animals and Birds both are kept and treated nicely however there is no option of Water or Food inside which sometimes is a problem as you will have to go outside the Zoo to purchase and return especially with Kids.Over all good
Really a good one.....When you enter, a White Tiger welcomes you....what else you want.....It is a little one as compared to other big zoos in India. But a very good one..All animals are kept good. They are healthy, fit and active....If you have children with you....this place is better even than Amer Fort.....
If you compare with zoos in other cities, it's competitively smaller. One can visit it in an hour. We visited in the afternoon, and didn't find most of the expected animals, like tigers, lion, panthers etc. So it was disappointing. Not sure if it's due to heat that these animals were hiding inside covered areas, or as some reviews have mentioned that they have been moved to some other zoo. However, we did manage to see other animals like crocs, allegators, bears, monkeys, peacocks and other birds, etc. There was no restaurant inside, but there were lots of street snacks vendors outside the main gate of the zoo. Also note that current Google maps location for the zoo actually takes you to the nearest parking for the zoo, and the actual zoo entrance gate is a bit far from there.
