The Jawahar Kala Kendra is a place where you can see an amazing array of objects as well as events that form the core of the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan.The Centre is a place that tries topreserve and highlight the native artwork and craftwork of Jaipur and Rajasthan. There are eight museum and exhibition buildings, along with a concert hall, an auditorium, and various art rooms and art studio. The permanent art exhibitions are housed in two of the buildings. Three museum buildings house show galleries and communal festivals of theatrical arts of Jaipur. Built in the late 1980s it is an important addition to the cultural milieu of Jaipur. Interestingly, the museum has been built to resemble the old city of Jaipur.
The auditoriums and adjoining theatre halls of the Kala Kendra include the well-known theatres named the Rangayan, Krishnayan, and Open Theatre. The main exhibitions feature the exceptional paintings of the Hastkaar Yantra and the famous door paintings which reflect the traditional characteristic and heritage of Rajasthan.
