Nahargarh Fort - Review

Situated on the top of the Aravalli hills, The Nahargarh Fort offers a magnificent view of the entire spread of the city of Jaipur. It used to be a defence fort and was built by Maharaja SawaiJai Singh II. It served for the purpose of fortification of the city when it used to be under attack. The fort was also used to shelter and house the British inhabitants and the royal natives during the Sipahi Mutiny of 1857.

During the reign of Sawai Ram Singh in the later decades, the fort was heavily renovated and several rooms were added. The royal suites and rooms of the fort are interconnected through secured passages that are decorated intricately. One of The remarkable additions,MadhavendraBhavan, went on to become the royal residence of the queens of Jaipur, along with the topmost storey being a luxurious suite for the King.

  • A very peaceful place to visit in the month of rains just because it becomes very hot in summers and foggy in winters so best time to visit is july to October. You can have look of entire Jaipur from the top of the fort and easily understand the purpose it served in that Era. Very beautiful built worth admiring the art of fort the carving of stones in ancient period is worth a applause. Talking about crowd you won't find much most of the time it's peaceful you roam around easily.

  • I recommend this for history and architecture lovers. Amazing place in good weather. Monsoon season makes this place a delightful spot for picnic or dinner. Cafe and restaurants serves tasty food to add to view of city. A lot of spots for photos.

  • The view from here is just unspeakable. It’s like a palace in sky from where you can see whole Jaipur. A very relaxing and happy environment automatically surrounds you. You can come here via auto or some other transport. But I suggest you when you go back to Jaipur city, go through the way which comes directly from palace to city. Any auto driver or vehicle driver don’t tell you about this. It’s nearly 200 meter from palace gate. The way is made out from stones (exactly don’t remember). But it’s an amazing experience. When you’ll reach to the end of that shortcut. You can hire any auto at very low price. Overall amazing experience. Hope you like the review. Press like if it did.

  • The fort is really beautiful, but make sure you wear a comfortable footwear before heading off if you don't want to get blisters. Don't even think of wearing heels, there's no road in there and you'll have to walk a lot on what looks like an uneven path made of big stones. The top view of jaipur city is a real attraction though.

  • Narrate your Rajasthan in your very own Words.. Awesome place.. Parking fees for Car Rs40 .. Adult Entry fees Rs 50 per pax You can see a different JAIPUR from the Top of this Fort.. And lot many other things to see and learn.. Good place for all age groups as per their own Interests and Intelligence.. Happy Travelling.. One Life..
