Situated on the top of the Aravalli hills, The Nahargarh Fort offers a magnificent view of the entire spread of the city of Jaipur. It used to be a defence fort and was built by Maharaja SawaiJai Singh II. It served for the purpose of fortification of the city when it used to be under attack. The fort was also used to shelter and house the British inhabitants and the royal natives during the Sipahi Mutiny of 1857.
During the reign of Sawai Ram Singh in the later decades, the fort was heavily renovated and several rooms were added. The royal suites and rooms of the fort are interconnected through secured passages that are decorated intricately. One of The remarkable additions,MadhavendraBhavan, went on to become the royal residence of the queens of Jaipur, along with the topmost storey being a luxurious suite for the King.

If you are in the city of Jaipur, and looking for ultimate leisure and contentment, just reach out to this place. Even at the soaring temperatures of the day, you can just sit at the restaurant on the extreme end, which offers a glimpse of the entire city. It's no less than a treat to work away with your exhaustive days, where you can chill with a bottle of beer, or repeatedly ask for the tasty Chai they offer (although you have to convince them a little for the service). You can even have food ordered, if time is not a constraint to the day long plan of your tour. Coming to the fort, inscriptions, stairs and its built, obviously it is majestic. The Royal look is very obvious with interiors of the Fort, it's boundary wall, and the terrace, over which you can find ample of reasons linger or click pictures. For photo enthusiasts, it's one good opportunity to explore the abundance of sights, spots and bring extra edge to their creativity. Rest, you can enjoy this place, even in solitude, if you happen to be a solo traveller in the city.
