This stunning marvel of royal Rajasthani architecture is certainly worth a visit. Salim Singh must have been a lucky man to have this gorgeous piece of architecture to his name. In truth, it was commissioned by this Prime minister in the Jaisalmer province.

The amazing architecture is perhaps the most stunning of the era. The arched balconies, the intricate carving and embellishment, the lovely steps and the piece the resistance, the peacock shaped roof structure make this place a must visit in Jaisalmer. Seeing such beauty is undoubtedly a once in a life time experience and you shouldn’t miss it for the world.

  • _This haveli was built in the first half of the 18th century and a part of it is still occupied by descendants of the original residents. The high arched roof is supported by carved brackets designed in the shape of peacocks. Legend has it that there were two additional wooden storeys that made it match the Maharaja's palace in height, but he ordered for the upper level to be demolished....

  • Good to visit if you got some spare time. It is inside the Jaisalmer fort so there is no need to plan separately. Mostly rooms, beds, clothes, glass work and art on display. Be ready to Shell out extra money at each of the Havelis in the fort for entry.

  • Although Salim Singh is known as a negative person by the people of Jaisalmer, the architecture of this monument is amazing. With intricate stone work and interesting interlocking system this place is one of a kind and a must visit.

  • Fantastic place for people interested in HISTORY and CULTURE. Superb and knowledgeable guide. We were impressed. MUST KNOW: The haveli is old and run down and your imagination will be sparked by the stories of the guide. Entry fee is 50R, a bargain really compared to the other ‘fancy’ havelis that charge 5x that WITHOUT a guide and that are surrounded by tourist traps. AVOID IF you are looking for sparkle and riches for you Instagram or a fancy selfie spot- don’t go to this place, you won’t find it here and will be disappointed. GO HERE IF you want to understand the history, societal norms/structure of the time and city when this was built and the fascinating architecture In my opinion this is well worth every minute. My favorite place in Jaisalmer during the visit.

  • The Magnificent five storied structure was built about 200 years ago by Salim Singh Prime Minister of Maharaja Gaj Singh. The Haveli has a narrow base but suddenly spreads out with a projecting balcony on it's top story. It has blue cupolas on it's arched roofs. It is a private property Worth visiting even from outside.
