Salim Singh Ki Haveli - Review

This stunning marvel of royal Rajasthani architecture is certainly worth a visit. Salim Singh must have been a lucky man to have this gorgeous piece of architecture to his name. In truth, it was commissioned by this Prime minister in the Jaisalmer province.

The amazing architecture is perhaps the most stunning of the era. The arched balconies, the intricate carving and embellishment, the lovely steps and the piece the resistance, the peacock shaped roof structure make this place a must visit in Jaisalmer. Seeing such beauty is undoubtedly a once in a life time experience and you shouldn’t miss it for the world.

Salim Singh Ki Haveli, Jaisalmer Reviews

  • That is the first place we went in Jaisalmer. The view from here was splendid and it was amazing to roam around. It had narrow passages and pictures and ornaments and so many stuff to fall in love with. The place also housed so many fancy stuff like an opd refrigerator and ice machine.

  • This haveli, built in the eighteenth century, is touted as a major tourist attraction. Salim Singh, the then ruler of Jaisalmer, commissioned the construction of this haveli.  It is situated in the vicinity of the Jaisalmer fort, and the access to this haveli is through a narrow winding road. The gateways of this profusely ornate building are flanked by a pair of tuskers and their size, shape and carvings lend them a life-like look.  Goance at this haveli was enough and a tour of the insides was a complete no-no. Hence we decided to skip the detailed tour and spent more time at Patwon ki Haveli and Nathmalji ki Haveli instead.

  • One of the oldest palace of Jaisalmer. It was owned by deewan saalam singh after which named so.He was Maheswari (bania) by caste but due to his great influence in state he got dignity of singh.Monument has great architecture which even seem impossible with latest technologies.

  • Nice haveli to visit. More than 300 years old. They also offer old artifacts at throw away prices. Good place to visit.

  • Truly photogenic...Don't expect so much...
