Jay is one of the northernmost towns in Orleans County, Vermont, United States, located on the Canada–US border. The population was 521 at the 2010 census. Jay is named for John Jay, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The US Census Bureau estimated that the town's population had increased by 13.1% between 2000–2005, the seventh largest increase in the state.
