Hamdeok Beach - Review

13 kilometres east of Jeju, this shallow beach is a convenient quick getaway for the island city's locals. The water is shallow and clean and emerald-blue. Well equipped with amenities such as snack bars, shower and changing rooms, and watersport rentals; the beach also has camping ground, which is separated from the main body by a large sand dune. Kayaking is popular at the beach. The view is to die for, especially with the mountain looming over the sky.

  • Go at sunset. The tides are low so you can go further out and the sunset is something you should consider watching while you’re there. There’s also a place where you can sleep if you bring your tent. Maybe wake up to a great sunrise? That’s next on my list!

  • This is a great beach, especially if you have kids. If you can be around to see the tidal change, it's even better. When the tide is in, you can walk out pretty far before the water is even at your waist. When the tide is out, you can see all the tidal pools. When the tide goes out, you can walk out about 50 feet or more of area that was covered by water.

  • My opinion, its not a very special beach. For people who like typical sand beach an chilling all day it must be great. + Clean Water / nice colour + Surrounded by Shops and Bars / Cafes + Safe (especially good for children) - water is not deep at all (70cm at 100m beach distance maybe)

  • Beautiful white sand beach. Very popular with locals and has places to eat and drink. There's a nice park near the beach for a nice walk or picnic

  • Nice beach for beach volleyball. There are several little eateries in the area and great beach camping (for free!).
