Jeju City Folk Five-day Market, Jeju-si Reviews

  • I loved it. Full of life, plenty to see. Very authentic!

  • A lively market with some interesting finds and tasty food, a good way to spend an hour or two. A ton of repetition, like most other markets in Asia. Prices are quite high for tourists, but some interesting things you won't find easily elsewhere (there's a stall in the middle to the left behind the produce sellers which sells some fermented syrup pastes made on Jeju island for a reasonable price). Some of the produce can be found a bit cheaper than the main Jeju city market (ie delicious hallabong oranges for 6000 won/kg vs 7000). Clothing was quite expensive, though we didn't try bargaining. Interesting range of succulents and potted plants to look at, including a couple of bonsai stalls. Lots of different kimchi and banchan, and interesting mountain vegetables for sale.
