Another place listed on the National and New Jersey Register of Historic Places, Barrow Mansion is built in Greek revival style and dates back to 1837. Home to Dr. William Home who was an in-law of Cornelius Van Vorst – the owner of the farm that made up most of downtown Jersey City, it was also known as Ionic house owing to the distinguishable four columns in its portico.
The mansion is owned by St. Matthews Lutheran Church. The four-story structure houses non-profit organizations and is available as a venue for weddings, meetings and gatherings.

Barrow Mansion Reviews & Ratings
The Barrow Mansion is an old building in need of some structural repair. The staircases creak, the kitchen is old-fashioned and the downstairs restrooms have only recently been remodeled. This is a place for community events, and economically could eventually host many more once these improvements are totaled and concluded.
this place is big I like attending AAA meetings there.
The people there are very racist. They insulted me and family when we arrived. Everybody there is rude.
If anyone interested to Go to the Jersey City Theater at the Barrow Mansion the show is great my daughter and I enjoyed it very much. It is call the Bakersfield MIST.
Good community services, great skills with the A.A & N.A. fellowship, good people skills.
