A six-storey structure dating back to early 20th century, the Hudson County courthouse is an architectural masterpiece built in Beaux-Arts style. Added to the National Register of Historic places, it was restored in the 1980’s.

The courthouse has seven working rooms and houses the offices of county executives. The granite construction is distinguished by the four Corinthian columns and a frieze that bear the inscription “"Precedent Makes Law; If You Stand Well, Stand Still”.

A major shoot location for number of movies, TV programs and commercials, it was the prime location for the filming of popular series Law & Order.
