First time at RPM, we (small group of 3) went in on a Saturday morning to beat the crowd. I recommend you become a member if you're planning on doing multiple races on the same day. Membership and 3 races for 3 people came out a bit under $300 which is not bad. You have to watch a quick safety video, throw a helmet on and you're on your way! We did 3 races back to back switching to fully charged karts after each race. Each race lasted about 10 minutes (about 14-15 laps?). My only complaints are: 1. We were not able to take a break after each race. 2. Wish we could keep the same car for multiple races, as each car I drove had slightly different throttle/brake response. 3. The last car I drove had front wing damage that created a ton of vibration specially on the main straight. 4. Goal is to get best lap time, hard to do with many cars in a small track especially when others ignore blue flags. Overall a great and fun experience!
DON'T USE YOUR CREDIT CARD IN THEIR ARCADE CARD MACHINES. We had our son's birthday party here today. It went very well. I was quite happy. They give an arcade card as part of the package. My son used what was on it and I added $20 to it on their card machine with my credit card. It did not add the $20 to the arcade card but my credit card app showed it as a pending charge. They told me that my card was not charged and I could come back if it is. I don't need this kind of hassle. Normally places just reverse the charge. They just gave me the run around. Won't have the next birthday party here.
This place is the same as Pole Position. With a new man, RPM, I was expecting a new image but instead are the same old karts. On the bright side, they have the cool racing simulator that gives you a real life experience of driving on a race track, Halo game and another cool game. The staff was very friendly and seemed passionate about their job. I recommend here over Autobahn. Nice experience.
Coming to this place was loads of fun. Be prepared to have a great time, the staff are nice and helpful. I brought my 8 year old niece and she raced with other kids, she loved it ! DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR LICENSE IF YOU HAVE OR ID!
Visited RPM Go-karts raceway with a group of friends racers a couple weeks ago. This track is awesome! Their electric karts are in a good condition: did 3 races on different once (always had stable/predictable performance). The track is awesome: I'd recommend coming on Monday when they often merge the two tracks into one (almost 0.5 miles long). great facility: spacious, clean and it has this pro-racing feel to it. Bottom line: one of not many opportunities for NYC racers to enjoy racing without leaving the town. One tip: when getting there make sure to check a map in advance and don't miss the turn to RPM (it's kind of hidden and hard to see at night).
