About Gethsemane, Jerusalem

The Garden of Gethsemane has an ancient Olive garden where Jesus would visit quiet often with his disciples to pray and where they slept the night before Jesus was crucified.

It was at this very place that the soldiers arrested Jesus Christ and handed him over to Pontius Pilate. Today, the garden is a place of worship and still echoes its stories.

The calm, tranquil ambience of the place is apt for taking a few minutes and offering a prayer in silence while a walk through the premises is akin to touching history.

  • A place of peace and tranquility in the afternoons after pilgrim groups visit in the mornings. Impressive olive trees that I call the silent witnesses that saw Christ being arrested.

  • A yard with plenty of trees, it was a quick tour when I was visiting it, because the tour guide was telling me to stay in the last. Did anyone encountered that tour guide before? The tour organizer said he was from Taiwan and our pastor said nothing about it. I feel very strange about it.

  • Very beautiful garden with very old olive trees. It sure helps you imagine how things were like 2000 years ago. There is a church there, but we did not go in.

  • This church is gobsmacking. Loved every inch of it. Sing your heart out in there and no matter how bad you sound, this is a perfect place for vocals. (Ok don't sing if you sing badly) Heaps of tourists can get annoying but hey, I was one of them! Church is massive.

  • Awesome place. Being where Jesus ministered was amazing.
