The imposing building of Signoria Palace with its magnificent facade and the beautifully decorated stone pavilion was built towards the end of the 15th Century. The Palace was constructed by an architect named Francesco di Giorgio Martini from Sienna who was a pupil of Brunelleschi. This exceptionally beautiful Renaissance building houses a library and is the original seat of the Magistrate of the city. A unique and fascinating part of the Signoria Palace is the internal porticoed courtyard that was designed by Sansovino. The Palace has been very well-preserved and is frequented by people who wish to get an insight into the history.
