One of the most beautiful lakes in the world, the Wuhua Lake lies in the Huanglong Scenic area and is the pride of the Jiuzhaigou valley. It lies at the upper end of the peacock river and the colourful leaves around the lake appear like brocade. The water in the lake contains deposits of calcium carbonate and presents a versatile colourful sight of azure blue, blackish green and light yellow colours. Owing to the dominance of deep blue colour, it is also known as Jade pool.
Exhibiting unmatched beauty, the lake also holds an immense importance in the folklore. Ask the locals about it and you will be flooded with different tales surrounding it.
