Jaswant Thada - Review

This Milky-white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, sitting above a small lake 1km northeast of Mehrangarh, is an array of whimsical domes. It’s a welcome, peaceful spot after the hubbub of the city, and the views across to the fort and over the city are superb. Built in 1899, the cenotaph has some beautiful jalis (carved marble lattice screens) and is hung with portraits of the Rathore rulers going back to the 13th century. Look out for the memorial to a peacock that flew into a funeral pyre.  Jaswant Thada is one of the main tourist attractions to visit and should definitely feature in you Rajasthan Itinerary 2 Weeks

Jaswant Thada, Jodhpur Reviews

  • Extremely neat and clean. In fact almost all of Jodhpur was such.... was a pleasure This is basically a tomb of all the royalty whose last rites are done here close to the palace and fort but there is no sign of the rites near here..... its beautiful and the structures are all so lovely Peaceful and quiet so you can spend some time with yourself. You have to remove footwear if you want to enter the specific tombs but can walk around with shoes on

  • Marvellous place to have an eagle eye view of the fascinating blue city. The park is quiet and people enjoy their mornings having a run or doing yoga with birds chirping around. A must go place for visitors and tourists.

  • I didn't expect the beauty of this place to be so marvelous.... Known as the Taj Mahal built by the Queens for their King, it's an epitome for love itself..... You may find and know many things by visiting this place. There are wonderful scenic views, great photography locations and angles, but mostly you feel like the Love's in the air around this place, quiet the romantic one I felt... Overall I have to say, this is a must visit place.....

  • Beautiful serene place with well kept gardens. Lovely ornate marble work on the mausoleum and surrounding cenotaphs. You can walk to this after a visit to the Rao Jodha Rock Garden. Nice place to sit and relax and people watch. Could do with more benches but there are plenty of steps to sit on.

  • Looking very nice and good place for tour very nice art in stone, all clean place, restroom is available and sitting chair and much more available facilities life and youth, wealth and glory, they all drift away in the current of time. You strove therefore, to perpetuate only the sorrow of your heart? Let the splendor of diamond, pearl and ruby vanish? Only let this one teardrop, this Taj Mahal of Rajasthan , glisten spotlessly bright on the cheek of time, forever and ever
