About Jaswant Thada, Jodhpur
This Milky-white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, sitting above a small lake 1km northeast of Mehrangarh, is an array of whimsical domes. It’s a welcome, peaceful spot after the hubbub of the city, and the views across to the fort and over the city are superb. Built in 1899, the cenotaph has some beautiful jalis (carved marble lattice screens) and is hung with portraits of the Rathore rulers going back to the 13th century. Look out for the memorial to a peacock that flew into a funeral pyre. Jaswant Thada is one of the main tourist attractions to visit and should definitely feature in you Rajasthan Itinerary 2 Weeks

Jaswant Thada, Jodhpur Reviews
Worthy of spending some penny to enter this place. A rock garden along with a pristine lake has been core to the beauty. The place remains to the body of the departed kings and queens. Must visit place.
I managed to get here at 5:45pm as the sun was setting. There was still plenty of time to get a ticket and look around, despite the fact it's supposed to close at 6pm. The temple itself was quite nice but not the highlight for me. 50 rupees buys a ticket for a foreigner which is not too expensive. What was really nice was the way up the hill. Looking over the city with a view over the nearby fort is a great sight. There's also a simple but lovely pond where it's nice to watch the birds frolic in the water. There's a cafe, though it was closed when I was there.
Lovely place to visit. Gorgeous garden and cenotaph and a really nice break from the busy city centre. Relatively cheap entry fee for tourists compared to most places in Rajasthan.
Beautiful temple nestled right beside a river plenty of trees around .. Very well maintained.. It wasn't very crowded when I visited so it was a peaceful walk around the area.... The views are great from this place.
I had to give it 5 stars, beautiful funerary , with a scenic lake, and an excellent garden. Spotlessly clean and very less crowd make it a peaceful place which is rare nowadays. I would say it's more enjoyable than the fort. Entry tickets are just RS 30 per head. It's about 7 minutes walk from the Mehrangarh fort and the roads are well maintained. Go there for the sunset as it's truly spectacular with the sun setting just besides the fort. I say it's a must visit if you like monuments and gardens. There was also a sense of pride seeing how well maintained a tourist place is in my country. Well done Rajasthan Tourism .
